Ingredients
It’s quite simple – to create the best product, you need the best ingredients, such as selected summer truffles (tuber aestivum), authentic Parmigiano Reggiano, and the finest salami made from pork. Equally important is a great deal of passion, to bring out the best in these ingredients.
Parmigiano Reggiano
This designation is protected, and we believe: rightfully so! It can only be produced in the Italian provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Mantua, and Bologna. Only untreated, silage-free pasture milk is used for the cheese wheels, which are delivered to the dairies within a few hours of milking. The Parmigiano Reggiano we use for our Saltufo® matures for around 24 months until it reaches its final perfection. Only flawless wheels receive the official seal of an independent consortium and are allowed to bear the name Parmigiano Reggiano. This guarantees perfect taste for a unique culinary experience.
Tuber Aestivum
Gold may not grow on trees, but it does grow underground. Truffles are the most expensive delicacy in the world, and for good reason when you consider their heavenly taste. Our summer truffle (tuber aestivum) is no exception. It belongs to the true truffles and is harvested from April to October in the temperate highlands along the European Alpine belt with the help of truffle dogs. It cannot be cultivated, making its availability limited worldwide and dependent on weather conditions. But you'll know the search was worth it as soon as you taste our Saltufo®.
